"Hemma" igen
Då var man nyss hemkommen... Vilken resa, kan inte fatta hur mycket vi har upplevt på 12 dagar. Så mycket upplevelser!
Sista dagarna i Phuket var hur bra som helst, även om vädergudarna svek oss. På söndagen när vi kom så spöregnade det hela dagen, så vi passar på att chilla och umgås med grabbsen. Framåt kvällen kollade vi in beachen (Kata beach). Vågorna var så höga att vi inte kunde låta bli att hoppa i trots det dåliga vädret. Vi hyrde bodyboards och fick en känsla för hur fruktansvärt mycket kraft det kan vara i havet. Ibland kom man inte ut pga av de starka strömmarna och höga vågorna. Jag och Annelie kunde verkligen inte sluta skratta när vi drogs med av vågorna och kunde cruisa i dem i 50-60m. Vilken känsla! Man ligger platt på mage på en bodyboard så det var inte så svårt, när man väl lärt sig att tajma, det vill säga. Jag och Annelie avslutade kvällen med en timmes thaimassage. Lovely, och pinsamt billigt, 40 riksdaler...
Dag två hyrde jag och Pontus en vespa för att ta oss till ett turridningsställe. Var ute på en tvåtimmarstur med Australienska hästar och en guide. Helt underbart att galoppera snabbt som blixten på stranden. Då det var så högt vatten (high tide), fick hästarna ibland simma för att ta sig fram. Jag var i himmelriket. Kan inte fatta hur mycket jag saknat att rida. På vägen tillbaka åkte vi runt och spanade omgivningarna. Hamnade uppe på ett berg med en helt magnifik utsikt, och en soft rastarestaurang där de spelade Manu Chao. Riktigt, riktigt skoj att åka och köra vespa även om trafiken ibland var lite väl kaotisk.
På kvällen hyrde även Annelie och Erik vespor och vi körde allihopa in till Patong, den turistiga delen av Phuket. Vi åt en god middag och spanade in en kvällsmarknad. Höll oss borta från bar och sexdistriktet, vilket jag är glad för. Återigen, så sjukt skoj att bränna runt på en moppe som går undan som bara den. Jag åkte bak på Pebe och kunde inte sluta le :)
Kommer komma massa inlägg så småningom, har hur mycket som helst att visa...
Men nu måste vi börja läsa till vår exam i financial management som vi har på fredag. Jag kommer säkert att lägga upp lite bilder senare under dagen.

Welcome to Paradize
Thailand ar minsann inte dumt alls. Vi ar nu i Krabi, Riley beach och har det hur bra som helst. Naturen har ar det sjukaste jag sett, for att inte tala om stranderna. Sitter pa ett seeegt internet sa det blir bara en snabb update.. Summan av kardemumman: Vi mar som prinsessor. Aker till Phi Phi imorgon bitti...

Kuala Lumpur is really the best place to be, if you like cheap shopping. Me and babe are having the best time here. Went shopping for the entire day, yesterday. Ended the night with a really late dinner at the Libanese place again, damn their food is sooo good. Smoked some waterpipe when we were ready, cosy indeed..

Kuala Lumpur is really the best place to be, if you like cheap shopping. Me and babe are having the best time here. Went shopping for the entire day, yesterday. Ended the night with a really late dinner at the Libanese place again, damn their food is sooo good. Smoked some waterpipe when we were ready, cosy indeed..

Vi har redan avvikit fran reseplanen...
Sent i torsdags innan vi skulle lagga oss, sa kom vi pa att damn it, varfor ska vi tillbaka till Tioman?
Grabbsen kommer ju att ha dykkurs hela dagen och vi missade KL nar de var dar for nagra veckor sedan. Sa lite lagom impulsivt hoppade vi pa en buss till KL igar eftermiddag.
Det gar faktiskt valdigt bra nar vi ar ute och aventyrar pa egen hand, jag och darlingen. Igar var forsta gangen vi var lite kloddiga. Vi slutade var lektion vid ett och sprang hem for att hamta ryggorna, hoppade pa bussen och pustade ut. Det var nog varmaste dagen so far i Sing igar. Sadar mysigt att kanka sprangfyllda ryggsackar...
Nar vi akt nagra hallplatser borjar jag prata om sadana dar fodral man kan ha till sina pass. Nar jag sa pass, fros Annelie till is i den 100gradiga bussvarmen. Japps, det var bara att hoppa av bussen :)
Jag vaktade grejerna och Annelie kutade hem. Sittande dar vantandes, upptackte jag att jag inte fatt med mig min alskade Ipod. Ringde Annelie men det plingade i vaskan bredvid mig... Fick vanta pa att hon kom tillbaka och sen var det min tur att springa tillbaka till boendet. Nu hade det gatt ganska lang tid sa vi insag att buss till Boon Lay och sen MRT till en okand adress inte langre hanns med. In i en Taxi!
Bussresan fran Singapore till Kuala Lumpur var nog det mest avslappnade och rofyllda vi gjort sen vi kom hit.
Otroligt skona saten och inte mycket folk pa bussen. Forsta timmarna sa vi ingenting, lyssnade pa musik, annelie sov sa sott som bara hon kan och jag hade flera timmars ostort tankande. Min favorit. Har dock borjat filosofera pa engelska. Konstigt. Kan ju inte ens alla ord jag vill tanka pa, men aven om jag forsoker tanka pa svenska sa kommer jag pa mig sjalv lite senare med snablars engelska i skallen igen. Hur som helst hade vi det riktigt mysigt. Efter pitstop nummer tva dar jag nastan gjorde som "the male models in Zoolander", blev vi lite pratigare. Drog det spirituella till sin spets och lyssnade pa Di Leva - Du och jag ar miraklet har...
Kom fram till KL strax innan elva igar kvall. Fick tips av var taxichauffor att bo pa Pujungga homestay. Valdigt mysigt litet gasthus mitt i stan. Gillar det verkligen har. Enda smolket i bagaren ar att jag igar var tvungen att doda min forsta kackerlacka. Med min kara conversesko! Skrek som fan nar den splaschades mot golvet och spydde nastan nar jag skulle plocka bort den, rakade vanda pa den och sag hela innandomet. Blaaark!
Vandrade runt i stan igarnatt. Ser mycket lovande ut. Vi at middag pa en libanesisk restaurang. Hur gott som helst! Blir nog ett aterbesok... Chinatown var tyvarr stangt nar vi val hittade dit, men vi sprang pa en stor seconhandmarknad nar vi letade. Kopte ett par svarta herrchinos for 5 ringgit, vilket motsvarar tio svenska riksdaler, pa en hoft sadar. Sa nu ska jag bli chic chic chic :)
Den langa dagen avslutades med fotmassage klockan tva pa natten, extreeemt avslappnande och lite ajaj!
Nu ar det en ny dag, vi har precis atit frukost och ska gora stans enorma shoppingkomplex osakra. Forsta stoppet ar Times Square, de har ett stort nojesfalt inne i gallerian har vi hort. Kommer bli fett! Googla pa det om ni kanner er nyfikna.

Finally, we´re ready with all the mid-term exams and assignments. Leaving Singapore tomorrow (Friday), and won´t be back until Tuesday 30th.
The trip as we planned it. But I have a feeling that we won´t stick to it :)

♥ PLUGG: Hade vårt första "prov" idag. I form av ett quizz med femtio frågor. Imorgon har vi exam nummer två. Har fått ett case på 23 sidor inför det, så imorgon har vi en timme på oss att svara på två frågor. Gäller att ta med sig sin snabbaste skrivarhand med andra ord.
♥ OVÄNTADE: Vi fick tillbaka två assignments som vi lämnat in tidigare under terminen. Fick A på båda! Wiiihooo, första A:na nånsin...
♥ TRÄNING: Morgonpromenad, jäkla svettigt om man får säga så!
♥ OMSTÄNDLIGA: De stängde canteenen för tidigt! När jag kom med min Ikeamugg i högsta hugg och ville ha te så blev det nej. Då jag hade det viktiga uppdraget att även köpa mentos till min kära roomie, så blev det att knata bort till granncanteenen. Tanten gav mig en mycket konstig blick när jag förklarade att jag ville ha teet i min egen mugg. Men hey, nån gång måste man ju tänka lite på miljön med. Det omständliga i historian var iaf att ta sig genom trappor och gränder med överfull mugg kokande te. Hmm snittar 3-4 muggar te, obligatorisk kopp kaffe i skolan på det, och jag undrar varför jag inte kan somna?

Romantic sushi dinner, love is in the air!
After spending the entire day studying for the mid-term exams, we thought that we deserved something nice to eat. Not that rice and veggies is a bad meal, but must say that it is starting to get a bit boring, eating the same food every single dag. Went to Boon Lay and found a Japanese "street" down in the basement of the mall. Sushi everywhere!
Ate so much that we almost fell asleep at the restaurant :)

Treasure hunting again... Destination: Pulau Ubin
Joined Max for another treasure hunt this weekend. There was supposed to be four geocaches on this small Singaporean island Ubin, and getting their seemed so easy, but there are no words for how slow the MRT can be. Twenty seven stops before we reached the end station. That´s not okay! The boat was suspiciously cheep, $2,50.
Ubin is a really nice and quiet island, no hotels or resorts. Just villages and tourists on bikes.
The beach got one star in the official "secondhandsisters rating beaches guide". So dirty!
But at least I got some nice being with myself time :)
We rented mountain bikes and biked round the island looking for geocaches (treasures). Don´t understand why they´re so hard to find. One out of four isn´t very good. But the one that we actually found was a multi, which means there were two steps. Max finally got to drop of his travel bug that he found treasure hunting in Japan, and he was really excited about that.
Even if you´re not lucky every time, geocaching is lots of fun! We got to see the whole island, and met some interesting people. Can´t stop thinking about that British guy. I bet that he is an author, or maybe he writes poetry? Would love to have dinner with him and talk for hours. Too bad that he wasn´t interested at all talking to us...

Vi kunde verkligen inte sluta stöna när vi åt :) Det var helt underbart med potatis och fet sås efter sex veckor på risdiet... Så gott!!!!! Kaffe och kauka på det, check!

Vi började dagen med att boka alla biljetter inför vårt midterm-break, om två helger har vi nämligen ett lov och då ska det ut och resas minsann. När det klart hade vi ett sååå tråkigt case att lösa. Usch och blä. Lite träning på det och sen kom vi på den underbara idén att ta oss till IKEA för att äta middag. Vi har inte varit där sen första dagen.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The key emphasis in this module is to prepare the student for the global marketplace. This course will therefore cover the various forms of direct financial compensation (wages, salaries, commissions, bonuses and stocks), and indirect financial compensation (benefits) that are available in Singapore and in the global cities of the world. Forms of non-financial compensation (such as flexible work conditions, telecommuting), compensation surveys, cost of living, basket of goods, cost of living allowances and pay parity will be discussed. Job evaluation methods to determine the "value" of the job and position will be taught to prepare students with the necessary skills on job evaluation and fair compensation. Types of pay (performance, merit, variable, skill-based and competency-based, etc.) will be compared. The tax advantages in various countries of employment shall be considered in the computation of compensation and benefits.

The evolution of human resource to its present state of human resource consulting and human capital management will be dicussed. It will also help students link business strategy to human resource strategy, and learn how the human resource cluster of activities can be deployed at the planning and implementation level. The course integrates human resource components and human resource technology with training in Human Resource Information System and other HR tools and techniques. Various pedagogical devices will be used in the class and project work. Students will be examined based on a battery of tests conducted in the assessment centre.

They include the understanding and analysis of financial statements, fundamental concepts such as the time value of money, risk and return, corporate financing choices and investment analysis, and financial risk management. After taking this course, students will be well prepared for other advanced courses in finance such as Advanced Corporate Finance, Equity Securities, Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives Securities, and International Financial Management.

DECISION TOOLS FOR MANAGERS
As business problems become more complex, managers need to approach decision making within an organised framework. This course introduces students to the basic tools in using decision models to make informed management decisions. The focus of the course will be on model building and analysis. The use of computer based solution tools will be emphasized throughout the course. Students will be expected to structure business problems as decision models, solve models using the prescribed software and interpret the computer-generated solutions. Topics covered in the course include decision making under uncertainty and risk for a single decision maker; competitive decision making and negotiations; optimization techniques using linear and non-linear programming models; forecasting techniques; waiting line management; applications in business processes design and analysis and inventory control; simulation techniques for making complex management decisions. Computer spreadsheet exercises, cases, and examples drawn from accounting, marketing, finance, operations management, and other management functions will be widely used in the discussion. A group project is designed for students to apply the decision tools discussed in the course to a real life business problem.

DAGENS...
♥ PLUGG: Lektion fyra timmar, när den var slut hade vi möte med en projektgrupp i ytterliggare två timmar. Utöver detta är det mycker som ska läsas, artiklar och böcker. Igår pluggade jag från elva på förmiddagen till ett på natten.
En liten träningspaus på kvällen, annars var det nonstop, tokigt!
♥ TRÄNING: Började dagen med 1500m simning och avslutade den med capoeiraträning.
♥ TEKNIKINKÖP: En söt liten vit mus till datorn, slet mitt hår igår när jag försökte photoshoppa utan mus.

After studying all Saturday, and knowing that I need to do the same Monday, I took a well deserved day off. I´m really in chock over the amount of homework that we have to do every week. To avoid getting depressed I started the day at the pool, hung out there for almost five hours. Too bad the sun didn´t show up, my tan is slowly disappearing. Just spending the day outdoors, reading and listening to my beloved Ipod was actually relaxing enough, a girl can´t depend on the weather if she wants´ to stay happy down here. It´s always cloudy and raining, wonder why?
Since the gang (Pontus, Erik, Sanna & Sara), still spent their CSN in Kuala Lumpur, and Annelie had a date with her father, I made Max promise me to do something fun for the evening. The plan was to attend this outdoor rock festival that´s been going on for the entire weekend. On our way to the concerts we wanted to find some treasures...
Unfortunately, we couldn´t find the well hidden treasure. That didn´t bother us to much though, just walking around Singapore is an adventure good enough for me. Compared to Luleå this place´s like paradise!
The rockfestival was situated down at Marina Bay, which is a really nice place for concerts, with the beautiful skyline in the background. The bands playing were a bit of a disappointment, and so was the audince. The entire event was actually kind of lame, when I hear the word rock festival, I think about Hultsfred or Roskilde. This was nothing like that...
Instead of listening to "not very good music", we decided to have some dinner. Which actually didn´t work out that great either. Or could you eat something that looked so similar to, yeah you know what I mean :)
Sitting at the food place our eye´s caught one of the tallest buildings in Singapore, maybe even the tallest. And it looked like it had a bar on top. Well, I guessed it was i Spa, but that turned out to be one lousy guess.
The only problem was that we were dressed for attending a rock concert, not the fanciest bar in Singapore. Just in case they wouldn´t approve our looks, we thought about using the phrase "Excuse me, do you know who I am"? Max of course, not me, who could I be? Since he won this award for the film he made, he wanted to go for the famous director, although I thought that he, if anything, could pass as a rock star.
We entered the hotell that the bar belonged to, acting as we were hotelguests. That worked out fine, until we in the elevator reallised that you need a roomkey to access the bar. This problem was easily solved, a supernice brittish couple let us use their key.
I guess that´s were we ran out of luck, the staff didn´t really approve the way we looked. We were kicked out, didn´t even think about our lifeline, Max being someone famous. Wonder why we forgot that? Atleast we got to look at the beautiful view before we were kicked out, always something.
So, no drinks in the skybar. But with a feeling that a drink might make the evening better. Off to Clarke quey...
At Clarke quay we found these beautiful Chinese rise lamps. Actually they were horoscopes for 2009, and mine said that 2009 will be one shitty year for me. So, I guess that I will have to spend next year to prove the horoscope wrong.
Btw, it is NOT okay, under any circumstances, to complain about my attempt to make the blog a bit international!!!!!!
